Earth-1413; what a stark difference.
Unlike other timelines, the X-MEN never existed in Earth-1413, instead the first known mutant collective is formed by Professor Charles Xavier and named the unit 'X-FACTOR,' which is made up of:
Worthington III is the heir to an enormous fortune, but when he was 13 X-Rays picked up massive changes to his back -- which turned out to be huge, feather wings connected to his spine. This allowed Worthington the ability to fly, his father, ashamed of his son sought out Xavier through multiple back-channel conversations and placed Worthington in Xavier's care, wanting nothing to do with his own flesh and blood.
McCoy's massive hands and feet were the source of numerous insults but it wasn't until puberty where he was able to display unreal amounts of agility and strength. Accidentally injuring other boys during a PE class in intermediate, McCoy's parents were much more tolerate of their son's 'gift' but knew they could not help him, Xavier found McCoy on total accident when he was attending a physical therapy session after McCoy fractured his ankle jumping from a 21 story building. Said to be absolutely brilliant and a pacifist, McCoy sees Xavier as a guiding light -- especially an important one for the 'gifted' like he is.
The Summers Brothers; Scott and Alexander were adopted by Xavier when both boys were literally left on Xavier's doorstep. Strangely, Xavier was unable to read the boy's minds or scan it for memories, at first he was skeptical thinking it could be a ploy but as he advanced further in his testing, it seemed as if the boy's memories were completely wiped -- they knew nothing of a past. Scott was roughly 3 and Alexander an infant when taken in by Xavier, they know their history -- Xavier has never hid it from them. He gave them the last name 'Summers' due to the season of the year at the time -- it was mid-July when they were found, thus he wanted to give them a sense of normalcy.
Emma Frost contacted Xavier in a cry for help telepathically. Her parents thought she was schizophrenic due to the voices she complained of. Placing her in multiple mental institutions, it wasn't until the fifth psych-ward where she had a mini mental breakdown and her telepathic ability flashed in all it's brilliance. Xavier contacted Frost's parents and had her put in his care -- her father, Winston was skeptical of the 'snake oil salesman,' as Emma's mother, Hazel, is a pill popping mess.
Approximately a year ago, during a routine search and extract -- Scott Summers ignored orders from Xavier and rushed into a military compound rumored to be experimenting on other mutants and mortally wounded three scientists with reckless abandon, using his optic blast to tear through scientists. Xavier and Scott's relationship had soured through the years as Scott felt as if Xavier hiding X-FACTOR from the public was wrong -- they should have the chance to incorporate themselves into society if they wanted. However, the scientists were later found to be working on [and close] to forming vaccinations for several lethal diseases -- the only truth to the mutant rumor was the blood sample they were donated, which contained cells that could rapidly repair themselves.
The United States government had made it clear the vigilantism by 'mutants' were unacceptable, this event just furthered their agenda. Xavier was the head of the spear as he preached equality and peace but many found him to be a threat, he up until this point was the only KNOWN mutant to exist, however the internet showed that others like he existed, but they did not come forward whether it's out of fear of rejection or because they just didn't care. Xavier took all criticism for the event, even offering to spend his life in prison for the action of his pupil, but the government refused to accept Xavier's admission of guilt- they wanted the true culprit. Due to the secretive nature of X-FACTOR, the identities of the group was kept hidden for years and this allowed the group to function as well as possible, all except Angel and Beast, who's physical deformities limited their interactions with the public.
Under intense pressure to give up the identity of the one responsible for the murder of the scientists, the government came down hard on Xavier, finding reasons to freeze his estate and placing miles and miles of red tape around him. Through it all, Xavier and X-FACTOR never turned their back on Scott Summers who showed zero empathy for his actions and instead, made excuses for his actions. A blowout between Summers and Xavier happened soon thereafter, forcing Scott and Emma to leave the Xavier Estate to form their own lives together.
Prior to this event, a trust was discovered for Scott and Alex -- Scott welcomed the mystery inheritance and invested, and won several times over. Upon leaving the Xavier Estate, Summers remarked he would do what Charles 'was too scared of' and would offer a new and superior school for 'mutants' to attend, and to be proud of -- called The Summers Academy. wo
McCoy and Worthington remained at Xavier's side, working on giving back the same way Xavier did by using their gifts and money to keep the Xavier Estate afloat. Worthington pledged to find other mutants who were suffering like they were, and left to travel the world in his quest to bring new pupils as Xavier did.
Alex Summers however, he choose neither. Scott and he were related by blood, but that's where it stopped. The were polar opposites, and a blood test was done to prove they were actually brothers at the request of Alex who had no relationship with his brother despite sharing the same roof for years. Alex refused to buy into Scott's arrogance, and would never turn his back on Xavier -- instead, he decided he'd take a leave of absence to find himself, something he dreamed of doing.
As of now, there is 3 mutants who are known publicly; Charles Xavier, Scott Summers and Emma Frost. Charles continues his work to bring together the gifted and humans, promising to keep those who come to him safe until 'necessary' where as Scott and Emma flaunt their mutant nature, taking pride in what has been coined a derogatory term. Of course, there are the threats that X-FACTOR had foiled in the past -- Xavier would never give their names up and give up on reforming them -- Summers and Frost on the other hand, want to eliminate them from existence because it provides a threat to banking as much as possible off of being gifted.
The two sides are bound to collide at some point, despite being the definition of pacifists; Xavier and McCoy has made it clear that if Scott and Emma continue to endanger their people as a whole, there will be consequences and if it means violence then so be it. Summers has become so jaded with Xavier and his way of life that he looks forward to calling his bluff which is when..
.. it all falls down.
