Marital Status: Married (Emma (Frost) Summers)
Social Information
Alias: Cyclops
Status of Identity: Public
Social Status: Hero... ish?
Current/Known Allies: X-FACTOR teammates [Angel, Beast, Diamond and Havok]
Current/Known Adversaries: Those that pose a risk to humanity [and his money]
Mutation Based Powers
Scott has the ability to fire concussive blasts from his eyes that.can destroy almost anything in his path. He absorbs any ambient energy and then releases through his eyes, studies have been proven useless to determine the nature of the energy released-- much like that of his brother Havok. The width of his blast is determined by the same muscles and nerves that would otherwise control his eyes as they focus. Unlike with his brother Havok, Scott doesn't seem to be limited to the amount of power he can absorb and thus project, which sets them apart on the mutant classification system. Without the ruby quartz lenses, Scott's optic blast is nearly uncontrollable to control due to a head injury Scott suffered when he was a child before he was left at Xavier's doorstep. Due to the head injury damage the portion of his brain that would allow him to control the valve opening to use the blast, Scott must always use it -- even in public. Nothing aside of ruby quartz has shown to be strong enough to repel the blast and absorb it so it doesn't shatter upon impact.
-- At what age did the mutation first appear?: 7
Abilities
Depends on who you talk to, Scott is either a fearless leader or a impulsive jackass. He's shown the ability to form passable tactics in battle, but really pales in comparison to that of Alex/Havok's.
Strengths/Weaknesses
+ Optic Blasts
+ Seemingly Unlimited Amount of Energy to be Used
- Highly Arrogant
- Has shown to be impulsive in the heat of the moment
- Suffers from miserable headaches, almost crippling
Origins
Dumped on the doorstep of Charles Xavier when he was 3 years old, Scott Summers has never had anything easy. When he was 7, he fell from a second story window at the Xavier Estate when trying to hide from his brother Alex and landed on his head and neck which left him with a portion of his brain damaged. Upon awaking from a coma from the fall, Scott panicked and his mutation came to be-- the earliest to manifest from all of the files Xavier has put together regarding mutants he's monitored. Xavier and a team of specialists determined that Scott's optic blasts AND severe headaches could be corrected with ruby quartz, but without it on, Scott could not control the blasts nor cope with the pain. As he got older, he was able to find ways around channeling the width of the blasts by focusing and basically picturing it in his head. Xavier raised Scott and Alex as his own, and once they were old enough he introduced them to a specialized training area he had concocted to test the limits of their powers- it was there that he learned Alex could exhaust himself where as so long as Scott was provided with light; ambien energy, he could continue to unleash the powers through his eyes. Xavier, learning of threats to society formed the group known as X-FACTOR a band of mutants left in his care that would act as the unofficial 'police' of the world. Scott would come to fall for one of his class-mates, Emma Frost in his teens and they would continue their relationship into adulthood. Due to Scott's perceived mature nature- he was named the captain of X-FACTOR and to his credit led several successful missions -- however as time went along and the vision of Xavier's to keep his students as safe as possible from interacting and thus being rejected from society -- Scott grew jaded. Soon enough, on a mission Scott was sent on with Emma to infiltrate a base rumored to be experimenting on mutants- Scott defied direct orders from Xavier and instead went in blasting -- killing government scientists. The true nature of the base was revealed to be that of a site where an unknown mutant willingly donated blood for the doctors to attempt to extract the regenerative nature which could be used to help deadly diseases. After the mission concluded, Xavier and Scott had a major falling out causing Scott and Emma to leave the Xavier Estate to form their own school with their own set of principals and lessons to be taught. Scott and Alex was found to also be the recipients of a trust which Scott used to invest, paying off in the future that gave him the money needed to make moves to secure his and Emma's future. Now, Scott and Emma has again defied Xavier's wishes and went public with their identities and powers -- also making it known that The Summers Academy is a school for mutants, something Xavier has never said publicly about his Institute to protect those there. Scott's arrogance is now at an all time high, he no longer resembles the leader Xavier once saw him to be- all that's left of him now.. is a empty, hollow, superficial jackass who's more worried about his bottom dollar than protecting the future of his kind.
